Provincial Summer Games!

July 13 - 16, 2017

On behalf of Peel Regional Police, I am very proud to announce that we will be hosting the 2017 Special Olympics Ontario Provincial Summer Games! The Games will feature athletics, soccer, softball, golf and bocce. With almost 800 athletes along with, coaches, staff and spectators, supported by over 600 community volunteers, will come together to be part of this wonderful event and give us the opportunity to showcase our region and exceptional hospitality.

Special Olympics Ontario is an organization whose impact on the lives of those with intellectual disabilities is unparalleled. Through active participation in sport, Special Olympics athletes develop confidence in their abilities, which carries through to all aspects of their lives. They learn to make and maintain meaningful relationships, as they become friends with other athletes, coaches, and families. All who have been involved with supporting Special Olympics have witnessed the joy and spirit of these amazing athletes.

Peel Regional Police takes great pride in supporting Special Olympics Ontario in their efforts to enrich the lives of athletes with intellectual disabilities. We have enjoyed and valued a long lasting relationship and camaraderie with athletes, family members, coaches and volunteers.

With a population of more than 1.3 million residents and a variety of venues to host events, Peel Region is the ideal community for the Provincial Summer Games. Peel has a continuing tradition of supporting athletes of all ages and abilities and we are eager to welcome these aspiring athletes, their families and friends to join us for the 2017 Summer Games.
